Presentation This is a follow-up ultrasound performed after a month in a patient with a liver transplant.
 
 
 
Caption: Transverse section of the liver
Description: The caudate lobe appears hypoechoic as compared to the rest of the liver parenchyma. A small amount of peri-hepatic ascitic fluid is also noted.
 
 
 
Caption: Sagittal section of the liver
Description: The hypoechoic caudate lobe of the liver is visualized again.
 
 
 
Caption: Transverse color Doppler scan of left lobe of liver
Description: No color flow is seen within the caudate lobe, raising the possibility of vascular compromise.

Final Diagnosis Caudate lobe infarct
 
Follow Up A CT scan was performed which confirmed the findings.
