Presentation This is a routine ultrasound examination at 11 weeks of gestation.
 
 
 
Caption: Sagittal scan of the fetus
Description: A single live intrauterine gestation is seen. There is increased transnuchal lucency with a cystic structure located posteriorly along the cervico-thoracic region. There is no evidence of associated hydrops. This most likely represents a cystic hygroma.
 
 
 
Caption: Transverse scan of the fetus
Description: The cystic structure representing cystic hygroma is seen extending posterolaterally on either side of the neck.
