Author(s) :
Shlomo Gobi
Presentation This is a pelvic scan in a young woman with a history of endometriosis and infertility.
Caption: Views of the right ovary
Description: The right ovary appears enlarged. A well-defined, dominant complex mass is seen in the right ovary. Additional smaller cysts, a few of them completely anechoic, and a few cysts with internal echoes are also noted within the ovary.
Caption: Color Doppler of the right ovary
Description: The internal characteristics of the intra-ovarian complex mass are better displayed in this image. The mass demonstrates homogenous internal echoes. This is highly suggestive of an endometrioma. No internal vascularity is noted within the complex mass. Repeat studies over time showed no change in the mass.
Differential Diagnosis Endometrioma of the right ovary, Hemorrhagic cyst
Final Diagnosis Endometrioma of the right ovary
