Presentation This is a scan in a 6-month-old male child with an empty right scrotal sac. An ultrasound was performed to locate the undescended testis.
Caption: Scan of the left scrotal sac
Description: The left testis is normal in location, size and echogenicity. There is a moderate left hydrocele.
Caption: Scan of the right inguinal region
Description: An oval well-defined mass with a shape and echogenicity similar to that of a testis is seen in the right inguinal region. The right testis could not be visualized in the scrotal sac.
Caption: Color Doppler of the left testis
Description: Normal intra-testicular flow is identified.
Caption: Color Doppler of the mass in the right inguinal region
Description: This mass shows internal vascularity. This is the undescended right testis located in the inguinal canal.
