Choledochal cyst

Thuy Van Nguyen, MD.

Case report

A P1G2 presented at 19 weeks of gestational age with unremarkable medical history. Our ultrasound investigation revealed a cystic structure of about the same size as stomach, localized in front of the right fetal kidney, under umbilical vein. The rest of the fetus was normal. We supposed the diagnosis of choledochal cyst which was confirmed postnatally. Here are some of the images we obtained.

Images 1, 2: Transverse scans showing stomach and cystic structure representing choledochal cyst.

Images 3, 4: Sagittal scan showing stomach and cystic structure representing choledochal cyst (image 3); and postnatal perioperative image.
