Case report

This is an example of the notching in the umbilical artery Doppler waveform probably caused by compression of the cord due to oligohydramnios. The amniotic fluid was echogenic. Fetal anatomy, biometry and cardiotocography were normal. The Doppler waveforms in both uterine arteries were normal. A healthy boy  (3910g, Apgar 10/10/10, Umbilical artery pH = 7,37) was delivered after induction of labour at 40 weeks. The amniotic fluid was clear. The postnatal appearance of the umbilical cord and placenta were normal.
