Dermal sinus

Case reports

Following images and videos show a case of dermal sinus that was initially seen as a cystic appendage protruding out of the lumbosacral region. Later at 19 weeks only a small hyperechoic remnant was present and disappeared at 23 weeks. Postnatally only a small cutaneous lesion was present in the sacral area of the skin.

Images 5, 6, and video 3: 19 weeks of gestation; only a small hyperechoic remnant of the appendage protruding out of the lumbosacral region can be seen (arrow).

 



Images 7, 8: Postnatally only a small cutaneous lesion was present in the sacral area of the skin (arrow).
