The speaker discusses the use of ultrasound in diagnosing renal pathology. Upon completion of this educational activity the participant will more accurately diagnose pathology of the kidneys, including differentiating between cystic and solid masses, overcoming sonographic “blind spots”, recognizing potential CT pitfalls, utilizing renal biopsy as a diagnostic tool, and appreciating color and power Doppler, as well as contrast enhanced ultrasound as an adjunct in making the diagnosis.
