Absent hand with digital nubbins

Case report

A 30-year-old woman (G1P0) first time examined at our department at 12 weeks of pregnancy. Isolated acheiria of the right hand with digital nubbins was suspected and confirmed at 14 weeks. The pregnancy was interrupted and the finding was confirmed.

Images 1, 2: 12 weeks of pregnancy - missing right hand of the fetus was suspected.

 

Images 3, 4: 14 weeks of pregnancy - normal left hand of the fetus.

 

Images 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10: 14 weeks of pregnancy - abnormal right upper extremity of the fetus with absent hand. The right forearm ends with digital nubbins. 

 

 

 

Images 11, 12, 13, and 14: Post abortion images of the fetus with absent right hand. The right forearm ends with digital nubbins.
