Atriventricular septal defect - 1º trimester

Case report


This videos show two different cases of atrioventricular septal defects diagnosed in the first trimester.
 
 
Case 1 - Video 1: a 29 year-old woman (G1P0) with unremarkable history. Atrioventricular septal defect was diagnosed at 12 weeks of pregnancy. Fetal demise ocurrs one week later. Video of the four chamber view shows absent crux of the heart.
 
 



Case 2 - Video 1:
a 35 year-old woman (G1P0) with high risk for aneuploidy (Double Test 1:2). Patient refused genetic diagnosis. At 17 weeks of pregnancy duodenal stenosis was suspected and at 22 weeks was confirmed. Fetal demise ocurrs at 37 weeks. Video of the four chamber view shows complete atrioventricular septal defect, with tricupid and mitral part of the single valve annulus.
