Ductal agenesis with right atrial connection

Case report

This is a case of agenesis of ductus venosus with suprahepatic connection. The umbilical vein drains directly to the right atrium. There are maybe some associated cardiac anomalies with this finding. You can see an overriding aorta on our images. Unfortunately, there was no pathology examination of the fetus to confirm our ultrasound findings.

Images 1,2: Image 1 shows a transverse view of the fetal abdomen with unusual course of the umbilical vein. Image 2 shows a sagittal view of umbilical vein which is joining directly into right atrium. Image 3 shows Power Doppler image of the umbilical vein joining the right atrium.
