Case report
Following images and video show a case of atrioventricular septal defect diagnosed at 17 weeks in one of the two fetuses of a twin dichorionic diamniotic pregnancy. The mother was a 32-year-old woman and did not undergo any genetic study. The newborns were delivered at 34 weeks and the diagnosis of the atrioventricular septal defect of one of the twins was confirmed. The affected newborn has died just before cardiac surgery.
The images and video show the typical atrioventricular septal defect with regurgitation through the common AV valve.
